Nature’s Power Nutraceuticals (NP Nutra), Gardena, CA, has appointed Helga Villanueva as director for quality assurance. She has more than 12 years of experience working in the industry.

Prior to joining NP Nutra, Ms. Villanueva served as director for quality assurance of a California-based food manufacturing and dietary supplement company. During that time her role included reviewing, revising and implementing company policies and procedures related to food safety and quality systems to meet the changing needs of customers, regulators and auditors, along with internal requirements to meet regulatory guidelines on different types of certifications such as GFSI-FSSC 22000, BRC, SQF, cGMP (Dietary Supplement and Pharmaceutical), and GMP.

Ms. Villanueva also handled various types of supplier and customer audits including third party audits with Silliker and SGS, and inspections with agencies like USDA, FDA, QAI (organic), HALAL, and KOSHER.

Ms. Villanueva is HACCP certified and has a vast wealth of knowledge in food technology, processing (including organic and gluten-free), manufacturing, strategic planning, quality auditing, team building, and other related areas.
