As AIDP celebrates 20 years in the functional ingredients industry, the company prides itself on having created a foothold in the marketplace by identifying ingredients to address consumer trends. In the last few years alone, the company has developed successful solutions to address the burgeoning areas of cognitive health, digestive health, bone health, and the demand for organic and non-GMO plant-based proteins.

AIDP is focusing on several key categories with great growth potential and specifically ingredients designed to manage the human microbiome. On the heels of the launch of its Xylo-oligosaccharide (XOS) prebiotic PreticX, AIDP will be adding probiotics through an agreement reached with THT, a Belgian company, part of the Prayon Group of companies that specializes in selection and production of lactic ferments in healthcare products (probiotics) and foodstuffs (starter and bio-protective cultures.) It was a natural addition for AIDP, as the use of PreticX has centered around the need for prebiotics and probiotics to be used together, the company said.

“We see huge potential in supplying ingredients that manage the microbiome,” said Mark Thurston, president of AIDP. “I am pleased to have built a relationship with a company such as THT backed by good science and the resources of the Prayon Group.” In addition, AIDP will be the supplier of plant-based galacto-oligosaccharides with clinical studies showing benefits in both gut health and satiety.

In the area of beauty from within, AIDP will be showcasing its fish-based collagen Naticol from French Manufacturer Weishardt, which is supported by recent clinical studies in skin care.

“We have exciting developments in all of our company’s focus areas—digestive health, cognitive health and beauty from within, joint and bone health—to share with show attendees,” Mr. Thurston said.

AIDP will be demonstrating a variety of food and beverage items containing these ingredients at Booth AA143.
